Hello Reader, It’s Lia & Jeremy from Practical Wanderlust, those travel bloggers who firmly believe that one of the fastest ways to understand a new city is to eat your way through it. And if that city happens to be Barcelona... We've visited Barcelona several times over the years, and while we've wandered Gaudí's masterpieces, admired the Gothic Quarter, and walked for miles around the city's beautiful neighborhoods, one of our absolute favorite experiences was something much simpler: Following a local around the city while they fed us. Because yes, you could spend hours researching where to eat, which tapas bars are worth your time, and how to avoid the tourist traps. Or... You could let somebody who actually knows Barcelona do the hard work for you. One of the things we loved about this tour is that it isn't just about eating (although there is plenty of that). It's about understanding why Catalan food is different, meeting the people behind the food, and visiting family-run businesses that have been serving locals for generations. You'll stop at traditional markets, sample classic Barcelona specialties, discover tiny neighborhood shops you would almost certainly walk straight past on your own, and hear the stories that connect every bite to the city's history and culture. By the end of the tour, we didn't just leave incredibly full... We felt like we understood Barcelona a little better, which is exactly what we hope for every time we travel. If you're planning a trip to Barcelona, we'd genuinely recommend making a food tour one of the first things you do. Not only will you discover fantastic local food, but you'll also come away with recommendations and a much better understanding of the city's food culture for the rest of your trip. We've shared everything you need to know about our experience on the Devour Barcelona Food Tour, including what to expect, whether it's worth the cost, and why we think it's one of the best introductions to the city.
And once you've worked up an appetite, don't miss our other Barcelona guides, including our 3-day itinerary, our where to stay guide, and our self-guided walking tour, all written by our Barcelona resident, Natalie. Your stomach will thank you. Until next time, |
